Restoring Dignity: Christ-Centered Healing for survivors or those at risk of FGM and Early Child Marriages.

Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) continues to violate the bodies and futures of many girls in Narok County, Kenya. More than just a cultural ritual, FGM often initiates girls into early marriage, sexual violence, and a lifetime of trauma. At Mission with a Vision, we emphasized that true healing must address both the visible and invisible wounds—and that restoration begins with Christ.

This April, our team facilitated a 1-week psychosocial support training for girls at the Mission with a Vision Organization at Nairasirasa Narok, focusing not just on recovery, but on redemptive healing rooted in Scripture. With open Bibles, warm hearts, and intimate therapy sessions, we reminded each girl: You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14)—not defined by cultural violence, but by God’s truth.

Our Christian-centered FGM Psychosocial Support Curriculum addressed critical topics such as the dangers of FGM, how the female body functions, God's design for sexuality and marriage, and biblical identity. The sessions included group counseling, icebreaker games, praise songs, and creative expression to help the girls feel safe, seen, and heard. Walls came down. Voices grew bolder. Joy returned.

One-on-one sessions uncovered deep pain—but also immense courage. We heard gut-wrenching stories and walked the healing journey with those who needed it. Most importantly, we shared The Story of Jesus’ love and salvation—and rejoiced as many girls gave their lives to Him.

The training concluded with a graduation ceremony and certificates for all. We give thanks to God and to all who make this possible. Healing is possible. Hope is rising. Moreover, Christ is at the center of it all.
